Science Journalism in the Digital Age
November 28, 2020 - November 30, 2020
The conference “Science Journalism in the Digital Age” wants to focus on the future of science journalism. What approaches, partnerships and business models finance science journalism in the digital age? How can we envisage productive interplay between science journalism and science? And what kind of constructive role could the state, foundations and private sector actors play in constructively shaping the transformation of science journalism?
This conference is designed as a working conference. As such, the combination of lectures, panel discussions and intensive specialist debates on the three thematic areas outlined above should deliver the groundwork for a policy paper to be drawn up after the conference. This paper will record options for action that identify the preconditions for quality science journalism in the digital age and ways of achieving it.
On the morning of 30.11.20, we shall be offering excursions to Freiburg, Basel and Strasburg for those who are interested.
