Would you like to meet leading science journalists, editors, researchers, and communicators from across Europe while expanding your professional network and developing new ideas?

The European Federation for Science Journalism (EFSJ) is delighted to offer travel grants of €400–500 to support young journalists attending the European Conference for Science Journalists (ECSJ) 2026, taking place in the beautiful setting of Schloss Herrenhausen, Hanover, Germany  in October 2026.

The ECSJ will bring together journalists, media professionals, researchers, and communication experts to discuss the future of science reporting, exchange best practices, and explore the latest developments in journalism. Whether you’re looking to sharpen your skills, gain fresh inspiration, or build an international network, the ECSJ is an opportunity you won’t want to miss.

Who can apply?
Applicants must be 35 years old or younger and work as journalists with an interest in science journalism.
Submit a CV, and a motivation letter in English (maximum half a page) explaining why attending the ECSJ would benefit their professional development.

Funding
Successful applicants will receive a travel grant of €400–500 to help cover travel expenses.
