Science writers from Croatia joined to establish a new group that «hopes to help support new and existing science writers, and link up with their international colleagues», according to the website of the Balkan network of Science Journalists. The decision to launch a new group, as a specialised branch of the Croatian Journalists’ Association (HND), «comes following many years of inaction by the existing association of science journalists, and after recent political pressure on science journalists».
