The European School of Oncology (ESO) has just sent out the call for nominations for its 2015 edition of the Best Cancer Reporter Award which honours excellence in cancer journalism and for the grant that wil enable a journalist to complete a reporting project related to cancer.
The 2015 Best Cancer Reporter Award winner will receive a prize of 5.000 euro. The runner up will receive 2.500 euro. Special Merit Awards will also be given to journalists who the jury believe have excelled in different areas of cancer journalism.
Print, broadcast and new media journalists are also invited to apply for a Cancer World Journalist Grant that will enable them complete a reporting project on a particular topic relating to cancer. Proposals are expected to have a significant impact on cancer patients and that provide comprehensive coverage on the topic rather than short spot-reports from the field.
Successful applicants will receive a grant of up to 2.500 Euro, half to be paid in advance and the remainder on submission of the principal material for publication or broadcast
There are two different deadlines for the two programmes:
The deadline to submit nominations online to ESO for the award is April 30, 2015.
